Boxing Day Deals 2008

The one stop place for all things Boxing Day is RedFlagDeals. This site is seriously awesome and a treasure trove of money saving deals. So instead of regurgitating what they have posted, I am going to highlight some items of interest. Keep this page bookmarked!

Dell.ca Deals:

  • Microsoft Xbox360 Pro Forza Motorsport 2 Bundle with Halo3 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance (HDMI cable and Xbox Live Headset included) – $369 (page 11)
  • Sony Playstation 3 (40GB model) with 2 wireless controllers, Spiderman 3 Blu-ray, and HDMI Cable – $369 (page 11)
  • Logitech Harmony 880 – $99.99 (Dec 25-26) (page 12)
  • Deals on a wide variety of monitors and Westinghouse HDTVs
  • Mass Effect – $49.99

Those who have yet to “Jump In” or step into the realm of “TrueHD” have some great deals here. I have a Logitech Harmony 880 and my advice to anyone who owns a home theatre system or an HDTV + cable box setup is this: BUY THIS REMOTE! Mass Effect is heading into my shopping basket soon as well.

Amazon.ca Deals:

  • Halo 3 Limited Edition – $34.99
  • Odin Sphere – $29.99

Odin Sphere tempts me very much for a cool $29.99 as well. I have been wanting it since its release early this year.

BestBuy.ca Deals:

  • Sandisk 4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo Memory Card – $39.99
  • Selection of XBOX 360 (BioShock, COD4, Assassin’s Creed) and PS3 (Assassin’s Creed, COD4) titles for $39.99 each.

4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo is a steal for Memory Pro users.

FutureShop.ca Deals:

  • PS3 80 GB w/ Blu-ray remote + MotorStorm, Virtua Fighter 5 and Dark Kingdom for $499.99
  • Memorex 25-pack of Dual Layer DVDs for $19.99
  • Door Crasher (ie not worth it): Toshiba HD-D3 1080i HD-DVD player w/ 300 and Bourne Identity for $99.99
  • $19.99 Blu-ray and HD-DVDs
  • DVD Box sets from $19.99
  • 2 for $10 DVDs
  • $19.99 for 100-pack of Memorex DVD+R or DVD-R
  • XBOX 360 Wireless Adapter – $79.99

Hopefully I can get PotC: At World’s End and/or the Die Hard Blu-ray box set for cheap.

I have one question… Why does Futureshop list the harmony 880 as $149 (save $150) making the actual retail price $300. but dell lists it as $99 (regular price $199)
is this the same remote? if so, is the actual retail price $199 or $299??
