The DKS3713 Breakdown

posted in: Game News 0

Square Enix’s E3 line up was somewhat dull. Nothing huge aside from the announcement of FFXIII for Xbox 360 was there. Fans of Square Enix were hoping that the mysterious DKS3713 would finally give us something to look forward to within the near future. Well, it looks like they have.

Here’s the breakdown courteousy of NeoGAF and other websites. Also, note that all this info was confirmed for Japan only (unless otherwise indicated).

  • FFXIII PS3 demo will be bundled with the FFVII: Advent Children Complete (Blu-ray re-release of FFVII: AC)
    • FFVII:ACC will come with trailers of Final Fantasy Versus XIII and FFXIII.
    • There will be a PS3 bundle with FFVII:ACC.
    • Doesn’t look like an Xbox 360 demo is happening any time soon as Square Enix have stated that development of the Xbox 360 version will not begin until FFXIII PS3 has been completed.
    • Scheduled for a March 2009 release along with FFVII:ACC
    • Real-time footage of FFXIII was shown and the battlefield has been said to be an “enhanced version of FFXII”
  • FFVII: ACC is said to have 30 minutes of extra footage to “complete” the “story”.
  • Final Fantasy Versus XIII still a PS3 exclusive worldwide according to a trailer.
    • Real-time footage was shown.
  • FFXIII Agito is PSP bound.
    • This was formerly announced for mobile phones which could be scrapped (no info on the mobile version.
  • “Parasite Eve 3” AKA The 3rd Birthday is PSP bound.
    • This was formerly announced for mobile phones which could be scrapped (no info on the mobile version.
  • Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep (PSP) is a 2009 title.
  • Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (NDS) is a Winter 2008 title.
  • Dissidia PSP bundle announced

So that’s that. I’m very pleased by the announcements, especially the PSP ones. Every single bullet point was of a game I have vested interest in. The next step would be some North American confirmations and some new pieces of real-time media for all those projects.

Square Enix and Tetsuya Nomura fans rejoice!
