Checkpoint: SSFT2:HDR Edition

Despite unenthusiastic reaction to the Super Street Fighter Turbo II: HD Remix media which were released throughout the past several weeks, I went ahead and downloaded the $14.99 CAD game off the PSN Store. So far? No regrets. I even placed an order for a Hori Fighting Stick 3 for added fun. I believe I will be writing up a short review of it, but if you’re a fan of Super Street Fighter II Turbo, do yourself a favor and download this. It’s that awesome.

Now that I’ve completed the Gears of War 2 review, I’m focusing on LittleBigPlanet. I’ve finished the campaign and I’ve spent a fair amount of time trying out some high quality levels. There are some talented level designers out there.

I’m sure you’ve read some of the “LittleBigPlanet bomba” threads, stories and other drivel. I don’t want to get into it too much, but I will say that LittleBigPlanet is one of those games that will either live or die by word of mouth and smart advertising. Have you seen the commercial for this game? They’re great, if you’re trying to market to 10 year olds. Sure, it’s a cute, but it fails to inform the consumer what this game is all about. It’s just a shame that they cannot put infomercials for LittleBigPlanet because a 30 second TV ad doesn’t do it justice.

What’s on the menu for the weekend? Resistance 2 co-op, perhaps some Horde mode in Gears of War and a bit of SSF2T:HDR. How about everyone else?
