Checkpoint: Gaming with Vin Diesel Edition

The next 30 days or so will be chalk full of Vin Diesel. This guy has two games and a movie coming out.

  • The Wheelman game on March 24, 2009
  • Fast & Furious movie on April 3, 2009
  • The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena game on April 7, 2009

Mr. Diesel’s schedule must be full of promotional stunts these days. Right? I wouldn’t know. I do know how his games are shaping up on the PlayStation 3 though. In between Killzone 2 single player sessions, I took the time to try The Wheelman and the Dark Athena demos.

You may be thinking to yourselves that I was harsh towards the presentation aspects of the demos, but was I really? I like my games pretty and fun. I also like paying full price for games that are both pretty and fun. It’s just a shame that both of Vinny’s games couldn’t live up to those lofty expectations.

If you read my Twitter update earlier today, then you would have seen that I finished Killzone 2’s single player campaign. Of course, I’m not going to spill my impressions of it here in full detail here, however I will say that it’s well worth playing.

Since Killzone 2’s multiplayer is such a daunting mode to full grasp, I’m going to be writing up my single player impressions first and follow up with multiplayer footnote later on.
