It’s that time of month again. Courteousy of NeoGAF comes February’s NPD numbers. This month I didn’t particularly care for the hardware numbers. Analysts claimed lower hardware sales, but they look fine to me. Sure the PlayStation 3 is trailing behind the Xbox 360, but just look at the $399.99 USD price tag and tell me that selling 276, 000 units of hardware this month isn’t impressive. Then again, the Xbox 360 was close to doing 400, 000. Nintendo is in their own league as always.
Software sales were interesting to say the least. I was really surprised to see Street Fighter IV PS3 and Xbox 360 sales numbers were that close. Killzone 2’s numbers were also impressive for having just two days worth of sales. Let’s hope it charts again next month. I’m also a little surprised to see Call of Duty: World at War still in the top 10 for the Xbox 360.
