I nearly missed the release of the March’s NPD results. Hardware numbers were down compared to February, but software numbers were very healthy. This means what exactly? Not many new console buyers, but existing owners are investing more into their consoles during these tough economic times.

This month’s software numbers are especially kind for the PlayStation 3. They have three titles in the top 10 which I haven’t seen for such a long time. RE5 numbers are exceptionally high, but that shouldn’t have been too much of a surprise. Even if I didn’t find it to be very good, it was indeed a looker. And we all know looks sells.

Killzone 2’s sale numbers may seem low and 1UP has an explanation.
