Let’s just get the trailers rolling!
Battlefield 3 (360, PS3, PC)
October 11, 2011
Need for Speed: The Run (360, PC, PS3)
November 15, 2011
Overstrike (360, PS3)
Mass Effect 3 (360, PS3, PC)
March 6, 2012
Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online Edition (XBLA, PSN)
Overall, I’d give EA’s press conference an A -.
Battlefield 3 looked the most impressive, but why does EA/DICE continue demoing on the PC? They already showed Frostbite 2.0 running on consoles with Need for Speed: The Run and it looks gorgeous. It’s just a perplexing decision not to show what could arguably be the most important versions with regards to sales.
Tonally, I like what I saw of Insomniac Games’ new franchise, Overstrike. Unfortunately, all they showed was CG, so we have no idea how it will play.
Lastly, there’s Street Fighter III release for PSN and XBLA. I threw the trailer in there, just to remind myself the game is still coming. I doubt I will be picking up it up on day one though.
