I’m not buying either of these video cards because they’re well over the $200 budget I set for myself. But that’s not going to stop me from skimming over these $450+ video cards from AMD.
I didn’t care for the $550 AMD Radeon HD 7970 — it’s just too expensive — which was why I didn’t give it the time of day on this blog of mine. However, today I’m shedding some light on the $450 AMD Radeon HD 7950.
The reviewers are right, why would anyone want to spend the extra dough on the 7970 when the little brother is within swinging distance for less?
I’m looking forward to the next AMD reveal which should be closer to the $200 price point that I’m looking for. I’m also looking forward to what NVIDIA has to offer. If the latest rumors are to be believed, the GTX 600 series of video cards should be arriving some time in February/March.
I hope NVIDIA’s efforts are far more competitive on both performance and price. I rather pick up a card from the green team this time around.
