Bonus Round: Year in Review Part 2 of 4

posted in: Game News 0

In this episode, Keighley, Croal, Pachter and Satterfield talk Microsoft and all the buzz which surrounded them this past year. Some wacky insights by Pachter as always, but his comment about the possibility of Mass Effect coming to PS3 is putting my initial plan of purchasing Mass Effect on Boxing Day into question.

You can watch the episode here.

Shadow of the Colossus ‘Wanderer on the Offensive (Live Edit) Song

Dedicating an entire entry to a song? Yes, but not just any song either, an OCRemix song. As a big fan of both the VG remixes and VG music in general, this latest entry from the OCRemix has all the ingredients of an awesome track. Here is a quote from djpretzel’s post:

“WHOA! Viola + rock = win. I love everything about this mix. Wonderfully mixed, wonderfully performed, and the arrangement just takes two great songs and integrates them seamlessly.”

On the fourth listen through right now and it is nothing, but pure awesome. In the words of my colleague from work: “This song is sick!”

Download it from OCRemix.

No_Style’s Checkpoint: Die Hard Edition

It has been a good week with the site accumulating some exposure thanks to N4G, but this post is not about the website. It is all about the weekend.

Checked out Bleach 152 and the latest 1UP Show featuring WiiFit, God of War: Chains of Olympus and Burnout: Paradise. WiiFit will end up in my home when it arrives in North American shores. Loads of fun will be had. God of War: Chains of Olympus, appears to be an incredible portable feat and as for Burnout: Paradise? Well, you can read my impressions of the demo for my thoughts on it.

Gaming wise, I plan to finish of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and hopefully push out the review by Tuesday. Intermixed, will be continued sessions of Final Fantasy Tactics and Call of Duty 4 multiplayer. Unfortunately, my copy of Unreal Tournament III did not make it here yet.

In addition, if all goes according to plan, I will have watched the first three Die Hard (on DVD) movies by the end of the weekend. I am sure this will make our webmaster, Robocrotch, very happy.

P.S – Check out the Valve merchandise. I want that cup and some of these prints. Sentry. Do want.

Steam Now Supports Gift Purchases

posted in: Game News 0

A Steam update was just released with one noticeable and festive feature: gift purchases. It is an excellent method of gift giving for that PC gamer on your list. If you are wondering how it all works check out the Steam FAQ.

Some folks may recall that Steam supported gift giving for only Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode One earlier this year, but now the feature supports all games available at the Steam Store.

Give the gift of Orange Box.

P.S – Feel free to give me something as well.
