An Alien game worth waiting for?

I didn’t think Alien: Colonial Marines was the game for me. The title itself was telegraphing first person shooting and lots of it. Alien: Isolation looks to be channeling the first Alien movie with suspenseful moments and a single xenomorph to torment the player.

Drawing inspiration from games like Amnesia: The Dark Descent is a huge plus in my books but at the same time I think it’s a detriment. I enjoyed Amnesia for what it was. Eventually the scares wore off but I was okay with it because I didn’t pay $60. It was also relatively short which worked in its favor.

Alien: Isolation will likely be a $60 for a single player title and I don’t know how they can justify that price tag for a title that should be short and sweet.

Alien: Isolation is slated for a Q4 2014 release for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
