Some PlayStation “4” Rumors Are Ruffling Feathers

Kotaku posted some rumors on the next PlayStation. Some were nice-to-knows like the codename, but others are causing a bit of a backlash.

Here’s the breakdown for easy consumption:

  • Codenamed ‘Orbis’
  • AMD CPU and GPU (Southern Islands aka Radeon HD 7000 series)
  • Will launch in 2013
  • No backwards compatibility with PlayStation 3 games
  • Anti-used games DRM

Konami Drops “Six Days In Fallujah”

Six Days In Fallujah, the controversial modern warfare game, is no longer being published by Konami.

“After seeing the reaction to the videogame in the United States and hearing opinions sent through phone calls and e-mail, we decided several days ago not to sell it,” a public relations official of Konami said. “We had intended to convey the reality of the battles to players so that they could feel what it was like to be there.”

And I thought Konami had the cojones to go through with this kind of game. I guess they underestimated the amount of backlash people would unleash in light of it.

Creative vs The People Fiasco

I read about this a few days ago, but I wanted to see how it would pan out before commenting. Well, it didn’t pan out very well.

Legally, custom Windows Vista driver creator, Daniel_K, is wrong for modifying Creative’s SoundBlaster Audigy Vista drivers. I applaud the fellow, though. He helped plenty of disgruntled Creative consumers by restoring features lost in the Windows XP to Vista transition. He essentially helped them overcome Creative’s Vista driver shortcomings.
