What’s in My Backlog Right Now?

darksiders

Having just finished my second run through Mass Effect 2, I’m left pondering over what game I should be playing next.

  1. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (PC)
  2. Darksiders (PC)
  3. Shadows of the Damned (PS3)
  4. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations (360)
  5. Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition (PC)
  6. Ico & The Shadow of the Colossus Collection

Seven games if you break it down. Seven games that I’ve purchased recently or have upcoming sequels.

The most obvious answer is to start Darksiders because of Darksiders 2 later this year, but I have Skyrim here and cannot let it stay unfinished like Fallout: New Vegas. To avoid this situation in the future, I’m just going to stop buying Bethesda published role playing games. These games cannot keep my attention.

What should I play next then? I haven’t touched the PlayStation 3 in awhile, so maybe it’s Shadows of the Damned? I hear it’s funny and I wouldn’t mind more funny in my gaming right now.

Checkpoint: The Backlog Buildeth

It’s that time again. I’ve accumulated more games than I can possibly consume thanks to attractive deals and lengthy role playing games.

I’ve just completed The Witcher which I will have to write impressions on. And I’ve started Vanquish on the PlayStation 3. That’s two down, but many more to go:

  1. L.A Noire (PS3)
  2. Enslaved: Odyssey to the West (360) *
  3. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood (360) *
  4. Katamari Forever (PS3)
  5. inFamous 2 (PS3) *

* – Denotes games that are on their way to me

Five games that are active on my list. I haven’t mentioned any of the Steam games I haven’t had time for.

Checkpoint: March 2010 Backlog Edition

God of War III was released earlier this week and now that I’ve finished the campaign, it’s time to take a look at the backlog.

I actually want to go back to God of War III and tackle the Titan mode and eventually obtain the Platinum Trophy for it, but there’s just too much other games to finish and start.

  • Battlefield: Bad Company 2 campaign – I actually just wrapped this up. It wasn’t bad and I might go back for the few remaining collectibles required for Trophies.
  • BioShock 2 multiplayer – This is more or less for Trophies at this point. I’m sitting at 36/40 levels and the number of interesting elements have come down to a crawl.
  • Metro 2033 – I think this will be my next game to start anew.
  • Final Fantasy XIII – I’ll get to this once my brother finishes it.
  • Super Mario Galaxy Luigi Run – I want to at least finish the game (sans all stars) by May.

Then there are games which I still have yet to obtain including Heavy Rain. Needless to say there’s still much to occupy my time with.

As for reviews and such? I’m working on the God of War III one and will write a little something about Bad Company 2‘s campaign shortly after.

Checkpoint: Ramping Up For Summer 2009 Edition

We’re into the third week of June which means the Summer Solstice is just around the corner. Summer gaming usually consists of one epic game which spans over a matter of weeks. Last summer was spent with Atlus’ Persona 3: FES. This summer’s possibilities will most likely include another Atlus RPG and a few more.
