More ports heading to the Vita

Sony dropped a few announcements on their blog today:

At least three more ports are headed to the PlayStation Vita. The headliner is Borderlands 2 which will include itself in a $199 PlayStation Vita (PCH-2000) bundle. New hardware revision coupled with the port of a game that’s nearly two years old?

That’s such a compelling offering.

The PlayStation Vita is quickly rising to the top of my list of poor hardware purchase decisions.

7 Minutes of Borderlands 2

Please forgive the lame commentary, it’s the price you’ll have to pay in order to see Gearbox’s upcoming sequel.

Some say it looks like a radical improvement over the first Borderlands. I’m not quite there yet. It looks like a logical progression and nothing mind blowing The co-op flexibility is nice, but again, it looks like a logical step forward.

I was hoping to see more complex bosses and enemy types. I wanted to see more than a horde of bugs that spill green blood.

So far so good, but nothing I’ve seen is convincing me to get this on day one. Dual wielding rocket launchers is the kind of crazy I can get behind though.

Borderlands 2 will debut on September 18th, 2012 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

Borderlands 2: Now With More Wub Wub

Borderlands 2’s launch date was unveiled with a wonderful trailer featuring dancing robots, boobs and lots of wub wub wub.

It was a flashy trailer that showed off all the things that fans wanted from the sequel. I look forward to playing it with a few buddies, but I will definitely be acquiring it a discounted price.

So while I am willing to wait, those of you who can’t should mark September 18th, 2012 on your calendars. It’s great to see the best shoot n’ loot game in all of gaming get a proper sequel.
