2K revealed a handful of BioShock 2 multiplayer details today. Digital Extremes, known for their work with the Unreal and Unreal Tournament franchise, will be working on the multiplayer component of BioShock 2. This is the same development house who helped port BioShock to the PlayStation 3 — so they’re not complete strangers to the franchise

BioShock 2’s multiplayer will employ character development through the use of an experience points system. I’m picturing Call of Duty 4’s multiplayer, but with Plasmids and Tonics. The press release also stated that  players will “learn more about the fall of Rapture as they progress through the experience”. Since the multiplayer action will take place before the fall of Rapture, it is possible to catch a glimpse of what Rapture was like, but I’ll believe it when I see it.

BioShock 2 is coming late this year for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Five Developers Tackle Bioshock for PS3

I forgot about this yesterday, so here it is:

Why does it take five developers to convert Bioshock to the PS3? I honestly couldn’t tell you. In fact, I can’t recall the last game which was co-developed by more than two developers. Regardless, 2K Games have obviously gone to great lengths to optimize Bioshock for the PS3 and Digital Extremes is a good choice. For more info and fancy talk, check the press release below.

So now that they’ve put worries about technical differences to rest, what about additional content?
