E3 2014 Day 0 Impressions

E3 2014 started with a huge deal for me. If all goes well, I’m getting an Xbox One for $279 ($110 off). Actually two.

I was planning to pick up an Xbox One in 2015 but those plans were accelerated just a few hours before Microsoft’s E3 2014 press conference. And with a possible early arrival of the Xbox One, I needed some games!

Without further ado, here are some of the games that I will likely pick up.

Battlefield 4 PS4 MP Report #2

I’ve all but sold this game. We’re a few days away from April and the game’s network performance is still atrocious. We’re nearing the five month mark here!

It’s unacceptable.

After a frustrating month of hoping during the “Player Appreciation“, I decided to call it quits and wait for the network lag issues to be addressed. Several patches and two pieces of downloadable content came by and the game is still marred with issues.

What happened to not working on content until the game is fixed? Nothing but lies and silence coming from DICE and EA. I don’t believe they even fixed the campaign save corruption issues for the PlayStation 4 yet.

At this point, if a trade in deal appears, I’m going to send this game packing. I enjoyed it when it worked but when you’re this far out and the main draw of the game is still broken, then you’re not worth keeping.

EA SPORTS UFC looks great

EA SPORTS UFC is being developed by the same studio responsible for making simulation boxing fun. The Fight Night series of boxing games were phenomenal and if their attention to visual detail also translates to gameplay, we’re in for a treat.

My only gripe against EA SPORTS UFC thus far (aside from the silly title) is the decision to render at 30 FPS. It would have been even more impressive if they managed to make it look great and render at a full 60 FPS.

EA SPORTS UFC is slated for a spring 2014 release on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
