Checkpoint: Just One PS4 Game Edition

Checkpoint - Just One PS4 Game Edition

I just got back from trading in inFamous: Second Son leaving me with only one PlayStation 4 game, Battlefield 4. (My brother has his copy Call of Duty: Ghosts but let’s just consider that gone).

I’ve played Mercenary Kings, Outlast, Resogun and a tiny bit of Don’t Starve: Console Edition but for me, the PlayStation 4 is pretty much a wasteland at the moment.

Watch_Dogs doesn’t appeal to me above $20. I’m waiting for Rayman: Legends to hit the same price point as well. The only other disc based title that appeals to me is Wolfenstein: The New Order.

This kind of drought was to be expected and thankfully DICE made Battlefield 4 playable because without it, I don’t know what my PlayStation 4 would be used for. It’s not even my go to Netflix or Blu-ray machine — that honor goes to the PlayStation 3.

Thankfully E3 2014 is just over a week away.

I wish I could muster the will to play and finish Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. It’s not clicking with me. I keep blaming the fact that I have to use the Wii U Gamepad to play it but I don’t think that’s the only reason. The same criticisms I had with Donkey Kong Country Returns could be levied here.

I still don’t want Watch_Dogs

posted in: Game News 0

After watching the latest round of Watch_Dogs footage, I will continue not to purchase Ubisoft open world games.

It’s just so familiar. I can’t help but feel like it’s the same Ubisoft open world formula with a fresh coat of paint a handful of new tricks. The “Hacking” doesn’t appear to be nothing more than long range context prompts. There’s a lot of things to interact with but it doesn’t look particularly thrilling to me.

The multiplayer looks more interesting to me. The invasion idea sounds like it could be really neat. I just wonder how long the novelty will last before everyone picks out the “hacker” within 10 seconds of an invasion.

Watch_Dogs debuts on May 27th on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
