Checkpoint: Sega Dreamcast Revival Edition

Last Sunday I brushed off my Sega Dreamcast and hooked it up to my Dell UltraSharp 2007WFP. At first, it was going well. Everything was working, but then in the middle of Marvel vs Capcom 2, the Dreamcast went black. So, with the aid of Google, I resurrected my Dreamcast.

At first, I thought it was a disc-read error, but just for the sake of being careful, I also cleaned out the Dreamcast to ensure its not the random restart problem. After it was all said and done, my Dreamcast was back in action. Awesome. Played Rez, Marvel vs Capcom and that’s about it. I’m holding out for the VGA box from RacketBoy. That’s right, I spent $24.90 for a VGA box to hook up my 9 year old console to my monitor; I love my 2-D monsters that much.

I like my Dreamcast, but I don’t love it enough to demand a successor though. Sega should not make another console.

Enough Dreamcast. Onwards to other things. My interest for an Intel Atom based laptop. The Asus Eee PC 901 and the MSI Wind both look attractive. I’d like to sit on a couch and write up my previews/reviews etc. I would certainly love to have one for this long weekend. Oh well, let’s continue dreaming and waiting for more Atom laptops to show up.

GTAIV is coming to a close. The build up is there and Robocrotch, who I imagine finished it already, says I’m close. The review is going well, but it’s going to take time to shape it.

Aside from finishing GTAIV, I’m going to give Boom Blox a whirl. Forge already took it out for a spin and he seems to enjoy it. When I saw it on the 1UP Show, I thought it looked like an excellent game to try out. I’ll also try to squeeze in more Phantom Hourglass time as well.

That’s all for now. I may add more to this entry as the weekend rolls along.

Have a good one.

P.S – World of Wifecraft? And Robocrotch, if you’re reading this, update WordPress when you get a chance. Bugs are annoying.
