First week of October is here so let’s take a look at this month’s noteworthy gaming line-up.
Week of Oct. 6
- Demon’s Souls (PS3)
- A seemingly tough JRPG with a western aesthetic. I’m intrigued by it and would love to play it, but it’s an incredibly crowded month.
- NBA Live 10 (360, PS3, PSP)
- Surprisingly, my brother isn’t picking up an NBA game this season.
- Wii Fit Plus
- It’s a nice replacement for new comers, but is it worth picking up for current owners? My mom says no.
- Afrika (PS3)
- An African safari simulator. I’d love to try this out.
- MotorStorm: Arctic Edge (PSP, PS2)
- It’s MotorStorm for the PSP and PS2. Intrigued, but that’s about it.
- Critter Crunch (PSN)
- It came out on iPhone already and if it wasn’t for the attractive price tag of $6.99, I wouldn’t have given this a second look. But here we are.
Week of Oct. 11
- Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (PS3)
- Looking forward to this one with baited breath.
- Brutal Legend (PS3, 360)
- The demo sits on my PS3 hard drive. Will have to give it a whirl, but I am interested in it despite my lack of rock music interest.
Week of Oct. 18
- Borderlands (PS3, 360, PC [coming next week])
- Stylish shooter RPG which looks interesting, but also boring at the same time. I want to say it’s worth getting, but all the inconsistent pre-release footage I’ve seen makes it a tough buy.
- Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (PSP)
- I’d love to revisit the top-down GTA perspective again.
- Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time (PS3)
- One of my favorite games of 2007 returns. It looks gorgeous and the new time manipulation mechanics seem to shake things up quite a bit.
- Trine (PSN)
- Finally. I’m hoping it’s as good as the PC version which people raved about over a month ago.
Week of Oct. 25
- Forza Motorsport 3 (360)
- Looks great and will hopefully satiate my bro’s desire for sim racing until GT5 makes its debut in Spring 2010.
- Tekken 6 (PS3, 360)
- The “year of the fighter” draws to a close with the King of Iron Fist Tournament 6. I won’t be participating.
- Grand Theft Auto IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony (360)
- I’d love to buy the “Episodes of Liberty City” double pack which includes both GTAIV episodes on a single disc. Maybe Boxing Day.

It’s a very busy line up for the month of October. Fortunately, many of these I can wait on, but with that jammed packed 2010 release calendar, I don’t know where I’m going to find the time or money for all of this.
And this is just October. November is pretty action packed as well.
