Checkpoint: A Look at Q1 2009 Releases

With the recent confirmation of Heavy Rain‘s release date, it dawned on me that I haven’t got a clue where everything is landing for the next three months. After skimming through a few release calendars I’ve picked out the noteworthy release and posted them below

January 26, 2010

  • Mass Effect 2 (PC, 360)

February 2, 2010

  • White Knight Chronicles International Edition (PS3)

February 9, 2010

  • BioShock 2 (PC, PS3, 360)

February 16, 2010

  • Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth (NDS)

February 23, 2010

  • Heavy Rain (PS3)
  • Splinter Cell: Conviction (PC, 360)
  • Metal Slug XX (PSP)

March 2, 2010

  • Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (PS3, 360)

March 9, 2010

  • Final Fantasy XIII (PS3, 360)

March 23, 2010

  • Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey (NDS)

March 2010

  • God of War III (PS3)
  • Yakuza 3 (PS3)

Many games. Too many and thus many will not be purchased on release day. Some — like Bad Company 2 and White Knight Chronicles — need a bit more impressions before I pull the trigger on them.

Obviously March is the heavy hitting month with Final Fantasy XIII and God of War III. So far, Kratos is the only coming my way as I’ve already pre-ordered it for a mere $50 many moons ago. The rest will arrive as deals dictate. I’m trying hard to not pay MSRP for anything — even if that means missing out for awhile.
