Checkpoint: New Bandwidth Allotment Edition

I had a bit of a bandwidth problem last month that will cost an extra $16 to cover. $16 for 8GB is ridiculous, but I’ll pay it. I won’t like it, but I’ll pay it. It will be the last time I pay that kind of overage fees. I really hope Teksavvy makes it out to my new place by the end of 2012.

As a result of the bandwidth restrictions, there’s a queue waiting. A queue of downloads and updates that I haven’t been able to execute.

  1. inFamous 2 100MB patch & install
  2. Mortal Kombat Compatibility Download
  3. L.A Noire cases
  4. A number of PC game patches via Steam for Portal 2, Civilization V and more
  5. SCCM 2012 Beta installation components
  6. Download the Uncharted 3 Beta

Speaking of SCCM 2012, I gave up on trying to install that on Windows SBS 2011. So many prerequisites were missing that I didn’t know if going through all that trouble was worth it. It’s certainly a bigger scale application than System Center Essentials 2010.

I’m going to try installing and working with System Center Essential 2011 on VMWare. And if all goes well with installing applications from this with this setup, then I’m going to replace my Windows Home Server 2011 install with:

The testing continues!

I wrapped up L.A Noire and I’m almost done with my impressions on it. I was going to start inFamous 2, but a 100MB patch deterred me. So instead, I started Enslaved: Odyssey to the West which is surprisingly good. I’m enjoying this journey quite a bit. I’m on Chapter 6 and I hope it keeps this pace up until the end.
