Old Tweetdeck, please come back!

tweetdeck-logoI tried. I really tried to like the new Tweetdeck version with its HTML5 powered interface, but I couldn’t keep using it. The basics like live URL shortening and the retrieval of all the updates I missed since I put my Macbook Air (or PC) to sleep are simply broken or missing.

How did this happen? Tweetdeck was snapped up by Twitter and this is the first significant version to emerge from the purchase. They essentially tore it down and built it back up without any of the substance that made the old “yellow badged” Tweetdeck the social media darling it was. Now it’s just an empty mockery of the Tweetdeck of old.

I hope they bring it back to snuff. In the meantime, I’ll be living with 0.38.1 and you can as well with these PC and Mac clients below. Don’t forget you will need Adobe AIR installed to use it.

I tried Seesmic, but it wasn’t as snappy or responsive as Tweetdeck.

Thank you so much! I installed the new Tweetdeck when I got my new mac. UGH. So glad to find the old version which is 1000% better than the new one. Figured Twitter would totally ruin it after buying it up. Thanks again for supplying the download.

I tried the new version of TD and hated it, everything useful has been striped out and its very clunky. I uninstalled it and went back to 38.1 I am cross that Deckly was nuked though, I used it a lot.

Oh thank you, thank you, thank you – I HATE the new version – not nearly as customizable and too much jumping around! Thanks again!

Thank you so much. I was going giddy with the blue Tweetdeck. So far so good. This seems to work even with Google Chrome. Happy customer :))

I have had to reinstall old Tweetdeck, but I’ve lost my timeline unfortunately – I wonder if you have any ideas?  I found you via Mediocre Mum by the way.  Thanks for any help you can give me

I’ve used this for a while now – it was fine as long as the instructions were followed. Appeared like magic on my desktop. I recommended this to an online friend who is frustrated to lose the old one. Thanks. Keep the faith.
    🙂
