Did you know you can use previously owned Rogers digital set top boxes? It takes time to get the whole thing sorted out but it is possible use a previously activated digital set top box on your account. All you have to do is the following:
- Ensure the cable box you are about to acquire has been removed from the previous owner’s account. They can do this by calling Rogers and giving them the box’s serial number (starts with SA or SC) for removal.
- Once they’ve confirmed that the cable box is no longer attached to an account, the new owner can call Rogers and submit the serial number for activation.
The deactivation process is time consuming and Rogers could potentially remove the wrong cable box from the account, so I would double check all your cable boxes are active before hanging up.
